The famous British NGOs, Muslim Aid wants the British Prime Minister to personally visit the quake affected areas. The Honorary Secretary of the British welfare organisation, calling itself "Muslim Aid", Syed Tanzeem Wasti, made this request in his press conference in London during his 10-day visit to Britain.

He said that such a personal visit would open the Premier's eyes to stark reality more comprehensibly and he would be able to gauge the depth of destruction and decide the aid amount in a better perspective?

He said that Britain houses more than 600,000 Kashmiri nationals belonging from the destroyed and affected areas, and they are restless and visibly shaken of the destruction and havoc the quake has caused, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

The British Premier owes his recent second term success to the Kashmiri community, who played a major and decisive electoral part.

Hence, he should reciprocate by personally visiting the destroyed areas of Bagh, Muzaffarabad, and rest of areas.

Wasti said that world community has given considerably less aid than was needed or anticipated. It should increase the amount to logical limits, so that the victims should be protected against unwarranted deaths, due to inclement oncoming weather.

He vowed that Muslim Aid would play a major role in the rehabilitation process of the quake-affected areas, and has contacted the governments of Azad Kashmir and NWFP in this regard.

He said that Muslim Aid would also allocate funds for NGOs working for the relief and rehabilitation of the quake-affected areas. It has already forwarded one million pounds worth of tents, medicines, blankets and rations, as preliminary aid to the affected areas.
